    • I'll say it: Everyone that even feels the slightest desire to attack someone for not joining their political cause is human shit, a waste of oxygen, with no respect for free will. Yep, SJWs (even if the term is old). I'll actively attack anyone that demands others have the same political views that they do.

    • Brie Larson hates the people that defended Chris, so blantantly said so during that Kimmy Kimmel interview where Kimmel even said, Eww, you went a bit far with that comment. A lot of people to hate in the Captain Marvel (referncing the self titled movie and Avengers: End Game), she later mentions Kong Island which is more of the same people and the 3 movies referenced. Why does she hate them, jealousy? How can you defend someone that hates so many people based on nothing?

    • you forgot the 3rd and 4th group of non-voters. the 3rd group are people who dont KNOW they wont be affected, and arent wealthy or privileged enough to avoid turmoil caused by bad politicians, they just BELIEVE they wont be affected, or BELIEVE they are above consequences, because simply they are Selfish, and intentionally ignorant, because having to think means having responsibility for bad decisions, and they dont want that. They want their "best life" handed to them on a silver platter. and the 4th group of non-voters are people who are actually dumb enough to believe that their act of "not voting" is a Protest against the system. Hilarious. in the last 50 years has anyone ever praised them? has anyone even mentioned their "protest"? No. Because not voting isnt a protest, its just the norm. the MAJORITY of americans dont vote, and never have. Not because they protest the system, no, its because they dont GIVE A SHIT. They dont care one fucking bit about society, they just care about themselves and their happiness derived from not taking responsibility and simply ignoring the real world. Thats the MAJORITY. so 4 groups: Privileged, in Denial, Stupid, and Selfish

  • Chris Pratt maybe got support because he deserves it?? And because he was wrongfully attacked by soulless "cancel culture" zombies that can't find any joy in life so they have to drain the life out of everything. The "other cases" didn't receive the support of their crew mates maybe because those "other victims" don't really like making friends and just assume people should support and worship them because their consider them selves special in some way. Your skin color, political view, chosen religion or sexual orientation do not earn you any kind of fucking bonus points. Stop claiming them! PS: Social media needs to just fucking die already..like 10 years ago. And I do realize the irony in stating this in a ISworlds comment.

  • I think the difference between coming to the defense of Chris Pratt and coming to the defense of the actors in MCU that didn't get the same treatment is the nature and validity of the attacks. We don't need to prove that Brie Larson and Anthony Mackie and all of the other minorities in the MCU are just as much human and worthy of their roles as the straight, white men in MCU. They were attacked for their identities, for the way they were born, and that will always be wrong. On the other hand Chris Pratt was being attacked over silence and unsubstantiated rumors that are actual attacks on his character and beliefs. The Avengers stars saw a man they consider a friend and clearly admire very much being attacked for reasons that might actually seem valid to outside observers, and understandably wanted to come to his defense. I would do the same for a friend. TL;DR: I personally wouldn't waste my time telling bigoted people that their opinions suck because it goes without saying, but I would absolutely come to a friends' defense if their moral character was being attacked with no evidence to back their claims.

  • deciding not to tell the world your personal political views is no different than deciding not to tell the world about your sex life. would they want to cancel chris pratt if he refused to give his (very) personal opinion on doggy-style? his business is his business and has no bearing on his acting, ffs! would he be a better actor if he put on a party (during a pandemic) for biden? beyond that, what if he does support trump? we are Americans and we live in a democratic republic. democracy is a way that people of differing opinions can all have a voice. i think that cancel culture purposefully chooses to forget the word "all."

  • I understand that Chris Pratt has an affinity to his church, many christians gain solace from attending their church! However, I take issue with the fact that Hillsong has pushed people to vote against same-sex marriage (as they did in 2017 for the Australian vote), yet their opinion on LGBT people is barely spoken about on their site, let alone fleshed out in any meaningful way. And people like Chris are somehow defending this?

  • Answer to your Chris questions - I don't think everyone should have scrambled over themselves to hate on Chris. I have similar concerns, but I'm not going to start going batshit crazy and cancel him. However, I think it IS very telling how all the co-stars came to defend him, when they didn't with so many of their POC costars. Just kinda shows what they find important. As for people who choose to be "not political" - if it's on social media, that's okay. social media is an escape for a lot of people, and i think it's kind of unnecessary to have to put out there what your view on every single issue is. HOWEVER, choosing to "not care" about politics in day-to-day life, like choosing not to vote (when you are able to), is irresponsible, I think. Also, people who have money and resources, like celebrities, should be using their positions to do something - I just don't think they should have to announce every time they decide to donate money, if that makes sense.

    Lindsey PLindsey P25 dögum síðan
  • Ellen Page wasn't calling Chris out because he's a Christian. She called him out because the church he supports 'Hillsong church' is notorious for being very Anti-LGBT+. The pastor did a speech were he voiced those beliefs. And Chris went onto twitter to defend his church saying that it is welcoming to all...which isn't true :/

As for the Chris Pratt situation, here's my take on it: He didn't do a thing for some fundraiser, people are throwing a temper tantrum like always 😒 and no one deserves to get hated on because of their political views. People are jumping the gun that he's a terrible man that needs to be cancelled reeee. Not to mention, if someone is Republican or Democrat, is it REALLY anyone's business? Entertainers are to do just that: entertain. Not give their political views, not "lETs geT PoLItiCAl" And all that bullshit. If he is a Republican, cool. That shouldn't affect his reputation, because once again, it's no ones business. Actors, movies, shows, anything that has to deal with entertainment shouldn't have to be shoving a certain political agenda down people's throat. Entertainment is there for people to escape reality, not get caught up in it, if people want that they can watch the news. TLDR, it doesn't fucking matter what he supports, he's an actor, not a political figure.

In fact, many of us wise, skilled, hardworking, and determined people, would be "privileged" or successful, if the government was dead. Their political system just divides & distracts us, and a government with way too much power & involvement, a government that can be bribed through lobbying, is the main reason why it is so difficult for a poor person to survive, let alone improve their own life. And a politician playing Among Us, a social game where the winners are determined by correct or not popular opinion, or who the best liers are? .... I don't need to say anything else about that, other than screw that politician for trying to lure my generation & after to that other broken game, called US politics.

But of the Chrises, I already disliked Chris Pratt back when he was with Anna Ferris for how they treated their dogs and cats. They fucking sucked. And adding church on top certainly takes a point away, especially if its a decidedly superstitious, controlling or bigoted church. But who cares about any of them? Why was this a thing? -- I dont give a crap about an actors political beliefs. many actors are bad people, many aren't that smart (they took acting classes, had privilege from rich family), many have done bad things (Jack Nicholson brought the drugs and was ON THE COUCH the night that Roman Polanski raped a teen; yet y'all care about his beliefs?). if you have to "like" who's books you read, movies you watch, games you play, music you listen too - y'all need to stop doing most of your favorite hobbies ha-ha

Then, What parent leaves a child, realizes that the US has taken said children and basically jailed them by your own terms... and never made an attempt to find out if their child is one of them? They have only had 4 years... and more. But sure, all Trumps fault right!? Face it, these parents are gone! • I want to comment on the quote/unquote "Hypocrisy" around the Avengers actors backing up Chris and not backing up Brie Larson and the other MCU actors. In the case of Cheadle, Mackie, Thompson, and Zandeya, the "attacks" to them were just internet noise which you can only do so much about and the people it came from were those that just aren't going to go away. Frankly they just didn't need defending because the overwhelming majority was on their side. Brie Larson is a whole other ballpark though. The difference is that Chris started getting harassed due to how everyone else perceived him. It was unprecedented, unwarranted, and he did nothing to cause it. Brie Larson on the other hand was actively antagonistic with a lot of stuff she had said and thus the backlash against her didn't warrant defending against as she basically welcomed it by her actions. That's not to say that harassment, death threats, and the like are acceptable by any means, but she got them in response to her direct actions. How she behaved around the other Avenger actors in interviews probably didn't help either.

We can offer SUPPORT but we can't (or actually we have been, so I'll say SHOULDN'T) be penalizing the people who genuinely need the medication just to have some form of life other than bed. I remember a story several years ago of some gal in FL that was addicted to snorting BABY POWDER. We gonna make that illegal or schedule it a controlled substance too? Kids were snorting white-out when I was in school, so schools banned it. Then permanent makers and highlighters, so they banned those too. Teachers started grading in CRAYON.. Until they found out some rejects were eating the crayons... Actually, thinking about it.. Maybe we deserve it. • Eh, be honest about it. Anyone support Trump deserves to be homeless and murdered and beaten to death.. that is literally what the world is. Before 2016, everyone was like, "Hey what I believe and do with my life is my business" and were called brave. Celebrities missing roles purely because their boyfriend has a differing political view than the actress they are dating.. yeah... And the right is the party of hatred, sure. This is why I stopped being a democrat, moved out of the USA, and am waiting to watch the whole country destroy itself. Literally done.

  • The story here shouldn't be that Pratt "might" support Trump, but the fact that supporters of another candidate want to ostracize him for his views. The state of social media is appalling right now, and people would be well advised to stay away from it, and make up their own minds on issues, not have the horde shove theirs down their throats.

  • So not only, if you "pick a side" you get lambasted by whatever side you don't pick, if you choose to hate both sides or not choose a side at all, you get lambasted. So when are you allowed to think or feel? And for the people who say they don't care about politics, alot of people can't take anymore and they have shut down and cut themselves off as a defense mechanism.

  • The only thing about the Chris part is I agree that people should definitely have that energy when their POC/Woman co stars get attacked heavily for nothing outside of gender and race. Like it's so irritating that they gotta just roll with racist and shitty comments. Also the worst Chris is CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS

  • I think dredging up the past when anyone comes to another’s defense is purely an attempt to invalidate the defense. This current situation aside. People are so content to attack others and that in and of itself is so much more the problem than the potential political views of a single celebrity.

  • He belongs to a homophobic church that has a long history of milking their congregation for money. I know that we all have at least one person in our lives who's extremely religious. And I know that most of us don't want to think of those people as bad people. We don't want to lose them. But the fact is, they are bad people. They are hurting people. They cause irreparable harm to children and society as a whole. And most of us just overlook all that when we're not the ones hurt or affected. Your religion, whether you like it or not, says something about you. And it's not saying good things.

  • As someone with chronic pain issues the whole issue with Purdue is such bullshit. The government has gone around the country scaring doctors from writing pain prescriptions saying you have to go to a pain clinic if you need ongoing pain issues or need any pain meds longer then a month. Meanwhile they have effective closed most pain clinics with on going investigations to make sure they’re being run properly, but without the resources to run the investigations, starting thousands of investigations around the country all at ounce rather then doing them from start to finish one at a time. So the pain clinics that are still open tend to have waits that are upwards of 8 months long. Leaving people in pain with no recourses. Pain is still not well understood. And it usually takes years to get diagnosed with anything if you have chronic pain, usually in the beginning doctors say your making it up or it’s all in your head. And then even as you’ve been diagnosed you spend the rest of your life being treated as addicts until you prove you’re not. Pain doctors are incredible important to help find the right medications, monitor intake, change medications when it’s time and creat a plan including procedures, psychiatry, physical therapy and communication with your GP to help you live a productive life. A good doctor is the difference between a life and addiction or death. And there is a range of horrible pain doctors out there. Ya there are ones who sell prescriptions, weve all heard of that, but there are ones who will decide to stop seeing you without any warning or reason when you come into an appointment, who will mess up an epidural so that you can only lay down for 2 weeks and not do the procedure to correct it. The government having a war on doctors, a war on drugs and who takes them, on addicts and putting them in jail rather than treatment and then wanting to “own” this drug company? Fuck them and fuck that.

  • Celebrities are allowed to express views, but using their fame to influence views is absurd. There is nothing that qualifies them to try and influence the public. I have all the respect in the world for Chris Pratt. His decision to remain uninvolved in politics is so refreshing and even if he is conservative, thats his business and he is known to be an incredible person. He clearly actively loves others, so WHO CARES WHO HES VOTIN FOR. Its none of your business.

  • Here is an idea, maybe it is a good thing celebrities don't share their political views because most of the time they don't know what they are talking about. Why should I care what an ACTOR has to say about politics? Their opinion should have zero weight on the conversation and I find it cringey when people applaud people like George Clooney for being outspoken on issues he is not qualified to weigh in on. Good on Chris Pratt for keeping politics out of his messaging.
