  • Are we still conflating protesters with rioters? The fact that leftist media and Democrats push this "Police are out to get protesters" narrative, when police are really trying to arrest rioters is dangerous narrative that serves to only continue sowing division and distrust between actual protesters and police. The people that attacked Kyle *may* have been protesters, but the moment they become aggressive, they are no longer "peacefully protesting".

  • The CDC changes are... fishy. On the one hand I understand the recommendation to keep testing available exclusively for symptomatic patients to not overwhelm testing facilities, hospitals and doctors what have you.. But on the other hand, I thought asymptomatic people and anyone who successfully recovers from COVID is vital to the processes of research and deployment of new treatments and eventually a vaccine? We know these people have antibodies if they recover from the virus, so would it not be important to a)continue testing and contact tracing to make sure they haven't infected someone else others ( symptoms or not) and b)get their consent to collect plasma for treating sick patients, since that is one of few treatments that has proven to be very successful with patients who do well after a transfusion? It's hard NOT to think this is political, given not only what the POTUS and Republicans are doing, but also because all of these doctors involved in the initial "task force " are being sidelined left and right, some even gaslight and attacked by right wing media. I mean it's just all really ridiculous and doesn't make any sense. All I know is a lot of our family members and friends have become sick, some have died but most have recovered by the grace of god and their excellent doctors, I'm in WFH mode until Jan.2021, and I am more confused/enraged/saddened/ and absolutely d o n e... all at once.

  • The CDC change SEEMS like an attempt to prevent the amount of negative results from testing, as they have outnumbered positive results by a crazy amount. So I could understand how health organizations want to try to gauge the limited number of tests we have available to people who REALLY need them, and need a confirmed positive because they’re already sick. HOWEVER, lying about Fauci’s involvement and some other parts of the story is really shady. And the communication of the new guidelines could really backfire badly. Can’t really decide what side I’m on for that story tbh. I just think Trump’s admin could have done way more and now hundreds of thousands are dead. Permanently dead, forever gone from this existence, from a preventable disease. It’s a disgrace.

  • Your reporting on Kenosha is disappointing... why are you highlighting comments about "systematic racism" regarding Blake trying to break up a fight? That isn't what happened and thats not why the police were called. And the whole situation regarding Rittenhouse isnt painting a full picture.. "he flees the scene and trips... three people come toward him" like what? He does flee the scene because its apparent there is a mob chasing after him. One guy tracks him down and hits him in the head as he's running towards the police. He then falls down. One guy catches up to him and goes to kick him in the head, another hits him over thr head with a skateboard. He shoots at both of them as a result missing the first and hitting the second in thr chest. A third guy approaches him with a gun in hand. After seeing Kyle shoot at the other two he raises his arms for a moment and then moves toward him going to point his gun at Kyle who then shoots him in thr bicep... Kyle then gets up and continues towards the police attempting to give himself up.

By your own video you provided evidence that Kyle wasn't there to kill anyone but to help yet you chose to ignore it and just copy all the major news outlets. • Testing for public health and looking for indications of needing to quarantine people is great. That's what it's for. This idiotic spamming of "TESTING IS GIVING US STATS", sort of but not really. Any one who does statistics doesn't just want blown up with billions and billions of low dimension test cases. It's too much for a variable analysis with some sort of regression and there isn't enough dimensions for any ML to draw any conclusions. The only ones who want all this spamming of information is the fucking new cycle because the American public just eats up numbers and whatever spin their little source puts on it. Slow the testing down. That's a good statement. I'm so tired of this rhetoric that if it comes from Trump it must be dumb. Just because he doesn't fully understand things doesn't mean his job isn't to relay the way his conversations go. Obviously he is going to take credit for slowing down testing. I'm more inclined to think the conversation went more along the lines of the scientists who are staffed and speaking on the statistical analysis of the data vs the use of the data to protect the public told Trump, we need very specific samples, we are wasting valuable tests on people who are healthy but scared that they are going to die because someone coughed near them at the store. People need to be recommended for testing by health officials after a conversation about WHY they think they are exposed. OR People need to be selected randomly by a double blind trial and regression should be performed on the results. These are different testing strategies for different reasons. People are scared BECAUSE OF THE NEWS spamming the reported test cases and saying when it's up it's bad, when it's bad you die. And then saying LOOK ITS UP. All these idiots in the public are like "OH SHIT WE ARE GONNA DIE" and then going to McDonalds for a super sized meal and ignoring their doctors recommendation to take a multivitamin at the LEAST. It's ridiculous to see these democratic officials always play their cards like they have the moral high ground or the scientific high ground when they don't and there is just a poor a track record for them. We have had SCIENTISTS saying we are under prepared for a pandemic of this nature for YEARS. SARS has been around awhile, I recall reddit popularizing showing how bad CHINA is because they have to wear masks. Ew look at their diseases, ew look at their cities air quality, China bad ew ew ew. NOW, the President calls out the disgusting practices that lead to these environmental tragedies in China and people say he's racist and people reject any negativity towards China... Scientists said another virus of the SARS COV variety is likely to come from China, I'm pretty positive they even specified Wuhan. It's not that the lab is there, the lab is there because that's where the problem is. There are many wet markets and there are many cavernous regions that can breed these viruses. They knew all of this was possible. China was prepared for this. America was not. It's not Trumps fault, he wasn't even in Office when they released this information. Oh Trump got rid of the task force, you mean the people that had no stock for this disaster? Oh good, it means he was paying attention, he said YOU GUYS AREN"T DOING ANYTHING. Turns out, they weren't. If we had a task force for years and they were preparing for this disaster and you disband them, the stuff they wrote the stuff they bought, the things they did should still exist. Look, what would they have done. Likely not a whole lot. Look at the governors of cities that performed the worst speak up and say WE WILL DO IT RIGHT. Hilarious. What a mockingly stupid panderer. The fact is, almost NO ONE in the government got it right. The fact is, almost ALL government run operations are known to lack efficiency and efficacy. So claiming that for this one reason YOU should be the one to run the country is absolutely insane. For anyone to watch the DNC say "COVID ECONOMY RACIAL INJUSTICE!" Economy they are referring to is from COVID, they mishandled both just as poorly as the President, only they had a much smaller economy to be worried about. None of these states were prepared. United States. Each State should stand UNITED and as a STATE. I guess people don't understand geopolitical boundaries. It's disgusting to see Democrats say that Trump is a fascist while asking the FEDERAL government to do everything for them. Do it right in your state first, then talk to me.

  • So the way I see it is this. We know you can contract the virus and not show symptoms for a period of time. We also know that during that period of time you can spread the virus. To say then that asymptomatic people do not need to get tested then delays other people in the communities ability to react and protect those at high risk. By that reasoning this cannot be a good move for keeping people safe. Since that is the case and the current administration is hell bent on making this as small a deal as possible, assuming that this is a a political move instead of a move by healthcare experts seems to be a reasonable one.

  • Phil im very disappointed with your coverage of Kyle. Mainly because of the "he fired 4 more shots" the part you didn't mention is that Kyle tripped then was jumped on by someone he shot at them missing then someone hit him with a skateboard and then kyle shot him in the chest. And bigger misleading is the guy he injured HAD A GUN. Kyle had him im his sights and the guy held his hand up. But once kyle backed off the guy lunged at him and kyle shot him. Kyle probably has better fire control than most cops. If he was gonna be a mass shooter he would have dumped his mag and then reloaded and fired some more. He only had one mag. The first guy earlier was getting in their face saying shoot me then a bad word. What we've gathered they guy probably charged him because kyle extinguished a Bruning dumpster. I dont blame kyle for running since there's lots of and they all kinda started to come in on him. Also when their saying "beat his ass up" he's probably scared for his life. I expect fox news, cnn and the Washington post to mis lead people but i expect better from you phil. If you didn't know I'd question why not because you have a while team to look at these matters. People will always have biases like Dohnut operator sometimes he sides a little with the police since he was a police officer. But he still gives all the info he can. • It makes me wary that when introducing this story in Kenosha the decision is to treat Kyle Rittenhouse similar to the school shooters and bombers that are covered on this channel. Regardless of what side of the argument you land on the 17 year old in question did not go out on the streets intending to enact terrorist actions such as school shooter and bombers do. His actions before (cleaning graffiti and providing medical help to protestors) and after the shooting (going to the police immediately and attempting to turn himself in) show a clear difference in this situation and other fame seeking terrorist acts.

We will fight to defend your right to protest, even if we don't agree with why you're protesting. What we are against is rioting and looting, damaging others' property and hurting innocent citizens. We will fight to protect those citizens' rights too. If Patriots are against you, you are infringing on others' rights. If there were no rioters and looters the country would be a safer place, and the protesters' message would also not be lost in violence. Protesters should be against the rioters and looters too.

  • As a Wisconsinite, it hurts to think that this is happening in the place I call home, but with how racists are empowered and emboldened here, it’s sadly not surprising to see. I genuinely hope for a productive recovery for Jacob Blake and for him and his family to stay safe, but also for ultra conservatives to realize that it is not okay to justify the Kenosha PD and 17 year old shooter’s actions. For those same ultra conservatives here in Wisconsin to realize what has been done to our state government (with gerrymandering, questionable timelines for charges in our state government checks and balances) have contributed to the systemic problems we are seeing. We have real issues with racism and segregation on Wisconsin that need to be addressed. The status quo isn’t okay anymore. We need to do better. #BlackLivesMatter #BLM

  • I wonder what state our nation would be in if all news media behaved like Phil. "Here's the story. Here are the facts. Here are links and sources. What do you think?"

    jerrrrrjerrrrr3 mánuðum síðan
    • @jerrrrr Oh Phil is definitely better than Main Stream, helluva lot better. I used to watch him regularly since last election (his shouting out the third Party Libertarian candidate impressed me), but I don't remember which story it was, but I noticed he left out some critical details that either favored the right or made the left look bad... whatever it was it got me on alert, and from then on I noticed more and more of a left lean happening. I am not entirely convinced this is Phil's fault though, I used to watch his other channel that showed the happenings at their office and helped the audience get to know the team... and I noticed after a few months, there was no one there that wasn't at least slightly leaning left, and some were pretty obvious very left. So I think maybe his fact checkers and news sifters are pretty biased and this is why we don't get all the facts and why it leans so far left. I kept up with the Kenosha shooting stuff as soon as I heard of it, and there are many videos that show different parts and views of what happened, and it is very evident the kid killed the rioters in self defense. I recommend checking out Tim P ool (no space) or Tim C ast (no space) for a more thorough look into it, once I got frustrated enough with the missing things Phil kept failing to mention, I learned of Tim and have stuck with him for my more neutral political US news. Philly D isn't terrible, I really hope he can pendulum back towards the center sometime, cuz I do miss watching his content and enjoying it.

    • @Punkboyleech Did you feel there was information in this video that was missing facts on any of the topics or just speaking generally based on long-standing viewership? Admittedly, this was the first PD video I've seen in over... two? years. I seem to binge his content, then forget the channel exists, and have followed that cycle since sxephil back in early 2010s. I've felt the left lean, but it is, in my opinion, undoubtedly less biased than mainstream media. I found it refreshing. How, about 'behaved *more* like Phil'?

      jerrrrrjerrrrr3 mánuðum síðan
    • might wanna change that to "here are SOME of the facts" or "here are the only the facts I DEEMED important"... unfortunately Phil has proven time and time again he is not neutral in his reporting and has a growing leftist lean (could be due to who he employs as his news/fact gatherers and the lack of intellectual/opinion diversity in the office).

  • Kyle Rittenhouse acted in self-defence. If hadn’t defended himself, he would have been killed.

    rahul327rahul3273 mánuðum síðan
    • @Mauris If you bring an assault rifle to a confrontation like that is your responsibility. You knowingly provoke escalation and can't claim self defense. As I said before. Imagine the protestors had killed him after he shot at them. Then they could have claimed self-defense. Law can't work like that. It is not a duel and the one who survives can claim self-defense. If you let that shit fly you'll end up with armed militias gunning protestors down in the streets in the name of "law and order". That would be the beginning of fascism in the US. Rittenhouse was in the wrong here, he initiated this situation. In every country in the world he would be convicted of at least manslaughter for that.

      BangThaBazieBangThaBazie3 mánuðum síðan
    • @BangThaBazie this comment makes no sense. He traveled 20 minutes out of state to protect others, he had no intent to use his gun unless he was made to. And he was made to use it. Its self defense cut and dry

      Jared MislanJared Mislan3 mánuðum síðan
    • I don't think you can claim self-defense when you drive an hour to confront protestors with an assault rifle. I don't live in the US and don't know how self-defense laws are over there, but from a non-US perspective, this was clear cut murder by Rittenhouse. If you bring a weapon to confront someone that's ample premeditation, so its murder. In fact, if the protestors had killed Rittenhouse, they could have claimed self-defense, because they overwhelmed what essentially was a public mass shooter. Guess in the US it's more complicated because you can legally carry guns, so bringing a gun doesn't automatically mean premeditation. But honestly, that's fucked up.

I have a fd up knee and pain killers work better than CBD. However I can escape my shitty reality with THC and forget I even have knee issues. After repeated use your tolerance increases and you can function normally while feeling great. Legalize cannabis federally! The only problem rn is it's expensive because of the restrictions. I should be able to grow a plant in my house regardless of what my landlord, neighbor, or housing association thinks. How is a plant smell offensive but a BBQ isn't? It's literally just the majority restricting the minority because they don't share the same view.

  • I can understand the backpedal on getting asymptomatic people tested. During the height of the outbreak in my city there were so many people rushing to get tested that it could take days to finally get in to have the test done, and then upwards of 2 weeks just to get the results of that test. So we had TONS of people in quarantine, isolating from everyone, missing work and therefore losing money and putting themselves through significant hardship just to find out AFTER they have recovered that they were negative for the virus in the first place. Sure, we have a rapid test, but those test supplies were being used up within an hour of a lab opening. The supply of tests in many parts of the country just couldn't keep up with demand. Flip side of the coin, people aren't volunteering to quarantine without a positive test. They should, but they don't. They'll walk around sick just waiting for the test results to come in and THEN they quarantine. There's no question in my mind that labs are severely overwhelmed and this was the right call, albeit a shitty situation, for the CDC to make.

    FacepalmDailyFacepalmDaily3 mánuðum síðan
    • @Lonely Nihilist In a perfect world, yea. Getting anyone and everyone who MAY have been exposed tested provides knowledge, I'll give you that. But that leads to virtually everyone needing to be tested. The virus is so prevalent now there is virtually zero chance you haven't been exposed at some point. What I am saying is when we have a totally overburdened lab system where it takes over a month to go from "I need to be tested" to "here's your results" then that's not helping anyone. So we have to prioritize. Who needs the test the most? Sick people and those with contributing factors (diabetes, heart disease, etc..). With all the other measures we have: masks, social distancing, mandatory quarantine, who needs it the least? People with no symptoms who were merely exposed. The tests aren't useless from a knowledge/tracking perspective, true. But it's useless from medical perspective. If you test positive and have no symptoms, and no other contributing health conditions, there is nothing they can do for you except tell you to quarantine........which they already told you to do before they even let you schedule your test. If you are sick and test positive, there are supportive treatments open to you. I agree with you that we should be able to test every single person who needs, or even wants, a test. We have the supplies, there are plenty of tests, what we lack is the staff. There aren't enough lab techs to keep up with that kind of demand. So many people are exposed that when an outbreak occurs in an urban area, the city has to suspend contact tracing all together because there aren't enough trained human beings to do it, even if the supplies are available. So we mitigate. Send the people with no symptoms home to wait and see, unless of course they have other medical conditions that put them at higher risk, and then focus on the sick people. That's the medically relevant way to handle it. Plus we run into a situation my home town had. They would test a sick person, he would come back positive and then they would contact everyone that was around him, then have them contact everyone they were around and it just went into an out of control spiral and Kevin Bacon is getting a call to go get tested. LOL.

      FacepalmDailyFacepalmDaily3 mánuðum síðan
    • @FacepalmDaily Except it is not useless. Even if you are assymptomatic, you can spread the virus. And the virus is known to stay active in the body for a full month at least in 20% of the infected. That means that the moment you find out someone you have been in close contact with has tested positive you should quarantine and then you should test yourself regardless (after the quarantine period) because there is one chance in five that you are going out there again to spread the virus to more people.

      Lonely NihilistLonely Nihilist3 mánuðum síðan
    • @Lonely Nihilist If you think about it, though, going to get tested because you were around someone who had it is a bit of a waste of time. They've already said that even if you test negative, you should quarantine for a period of time regardless. Just in case you tested too early in your infection. If you are asymptomatic, the test does absolutely nothing for you. If you have symptoms, THEN the test is beneficial. It clears the path to further medical treatment and prescriptions. If you have no symptoms, there's nothing they can do for you. So it's smarter to bypass the test, just isolate and monitor your condition and get back to work after 14 days. A lot of labs around me and around the country stopped testing asymptomatic people weeks ago because they couldn't handle the influx. The CDC is basically telling them to do what they have already been doing. My experience of getting tested took quite a bit longer than 14 days. It took almost a week on a waiting list, then I had to wait in line for more than 12 hours just to get swabbed. Then it was two weeks before I received my negative result. I actually missed more work waiting for a test result than I would have just quarantining the two weeks.....and I never got sick.

      FacepalmDailyFacepalmDaily3 mánuðum síðan
    • Was everybody that was getting tested previously into close contact with someone that tested positive? The recommendation was not to test every living soul. It was to test anyone that, despite not showing symptoms, had been in close contact with someone who tested positive. And if you know you have been in contact with someone who tested positive, you should know better to quarantine anyways.

My level of maturity and judgment at the age of 17 was pretty 'undeveloped' back then, to put it mildly. Allowing someone that age to own an AR15 is just patiently incorrect and beyond any logic I can comprehend.

    • Mauris you're arguing the semantics here rather than seeing the big picture. Military rifles are designed to be as lethally effective as possible to function in a military conflict. As such I cannot comprehend why a teenage would be allowed to have/use one at all. This is my point, the law should be changed, it should have a long time ago. For hunting . . . use a bolt action like the professionals Firing a military weapon at your own (unarmed) countryman show an incredible lack of judgement. Yes he was being confronted but someone with more maturity/training would have been able to deal with that confrontation without the use of a firearm. Many ordinary citizens in societies around the world function just fine without needing a firearm to 'protect' themselves.

Any responsible gun owner knows this. I’m not a prosecutor or a detective but the assumption is that his actions imply malice.
