  • So I want to start off with this, Most people won't understand what it's like to go to only fast food places like subway or chipotle as a law enforcement officer. We don't do it because we love those places but because we can SEE that no one messed with our food. We do online orders so people don't know we are police officers and go to pick up our food that should be done. If I get to the place I ordered from and I'm there 10 mins after my food was supposed to be done and it's still not done. A red flag pops up. Not a big one but you get to thinking. It might be fine for most people but for law enforcement when you see the employee take extra long on your food you can't see being prepare, you start to think they're messing with it or spitting in it. Ive also seen food that looked ready to go for a To-Go order sitting in the pickup/storage area and the employee sees you in uniform and says "Let us make it fresh for you" (Another red flag ) and while that might seem innocent and could very well be a nice gesture, I'd rather have cold food that you made from random online person than food made specifically for a cop. If I insist that it's fine that my food is cold and I would just like my food so I can go. And they tell you they have to remake it.(Red flag) Why do you have to remake it... It's right there... With my name on it... I have calls to go to and my break is only so long. At that point, I'm walking out. Some people might ask for a refund. 9 dollars isn't worth my time and effort and backlash. This is entirely situation is on the officer on how they react. They could pull a partial Farva and say "Does this look like spit to you ? Aww fuck it" *Takes a bite out of it anyway* Or they can go the Full Farva and tackle the employee behind the counter for poking a hole in their Liter-O-Cola and be put on radio duty for the rest of their career or fired. The main point of this is that this is a real fear as a law enforcement officer that your food may be messed with if the wait is too long. We prefer places that make food in front of you or that take online orders for these reasons. As far as the emotional side of the officer that you're seeing . We have no way of knowing what kind of calls she just came off of or what kind of a week she just had on an emotional/traumatic scale but I agree that if you're on the level of breakdown she was at that she should seek help from one of the programs hopefully offered at her department. They're a big help.

I don't think the McDonald's employees were actually messing with her food -like you said, it's a relatively common thing for fast food orders to have a delay over something stupid- but obviously that false narrative that's already been put out there is enough to have a huge effect on her, and will certainly affect her ability to do her job.

I dont think the whole "I hope this blows over" thing is in reference to the civil rights movement as much as it is potential for calculated violence against cops. But, without knowing her personally that last bit is just conjecture. Also, police should be trained for high stress situations but getting breakfast isn't one of those so sitting and waiting after placing an order in advance I can see how it might make her nervous in the current state of things

  • Idk why that woman wants a "thank you" for being an officer and is so emotional. Police get fat pensions if they're in long enough and it's a job. Either you're in it for the personal enrichment you get out of doing that job OR you're doing it for the money. If neither of those things are compensating you enough, quit. We're not assigned jobs at birth, people choose to be officers. She's SO dramatic. Being a police officer is a good job and typically you don't need to be that intelligent at all.

    cactuslemcactuslem4 mánuðum síðan
  • Reading the comments it really feels like people a miss interpreting what she is talking about. To me it sounds like, she isn't afraid that McD did something to her food, but that in general she feels she can no longer trust that they didn't, because of all the cop hate that is going on. And I gotta say, reading your peoples comment, I get where she is coming from. And her whole wish for this to blow over is clearly also about the cop hate and not the "lets save black peoples lives" movement.

    belzedkbelzedk4 mánuðum síðan
    • The cop hate won’t go away until they take some time to understand where it is coming from, and why the people who hate cops feel they are justified in doing so. Police around the country are responding to these protests and these demands for reform with resentment, with anger, one officer literally called for civil war and threatened to start “shooting n*ggers” and he said all of this in uniform. If they want to be hated less they need to do what our society has entrusted them to do and take the high road. They have been refusing to. If their response is this petulant then I honestly cannot wait for us to start reimagining our social contract to exclude them entirely. These men and women don’t deserve to perform the actions we have entrusted them with. I’ve yet to meet a cop who does, and I have some in my family.

  • As a partially Pakistani/Indian-American, I know this isn't mentioned in the video, but it's complete bullshit that Apu from the Simpsons was cut. Apu was absolutely my favorite character and I am fucking livid they removed him, me and my family loved him cause despise representing SOME stereotypes of Indians, it mocked them to a degree where the stereotypes themselves were made fun of. Not to mention he was also seen as way smarter than basically every other character and literally a small business owner. I think eliminating group's representation in popular culture and branding is bad. Brands in general are capitalistic consumeristic inventions and are genuinely nightmarish sometimes, but at the end of the day, if you totally eliminate every possibly-triggering image of a minority in media, no one's gonna know they exist in the first place. Aunt Jemima is definitely suspicious in origin, but even if originating from or incorporating stereotypes, what matters above all is HOW PEOPLE PERCIEVE IT. And I never percieved Apu or Aunt Jemima as negative or harmful stereotypes. I didn't associate Apu with all brown people, I associated him with really funny jokes about my own culture. I never associated Aunt Jemima with the idea that all black women are just helpers, I just associated her image with 6/10 quality syrup.

I worry every day for my brothers, my dad, my uncles, my cousins, my friends. Every. Single. Day. Of my life. I worry that they won’t come home to me. So yeah, it sucks that certain police officers are receiving that kind of treatment, and you’re right, hate won’t heal what’s happening. But what I will say is that maybe instead of crying to everyone on her facebook about it, she could take a minute to reflect on HERSELF, and maybe consider that the way she’s feeling is how we live our every day lives. Maybe she could consider that she’s worried about being able to get a coffee and sandwich, and we’re concerned about the lives of innocent people. Maybe she could take a moment, to reflect on her privilege, and consider that she’s LUCKY, to have to only experience this for a short period of time, instead of experiencing it for her whole life. Yeah, being anxious all the time sucks, doesn’t it?

      anyssa younganyssa young5 mánuðum síðan
    • That’s not the point. She’s paranoid because she can’t see her food being made. This happened after other police officers were being poisoned from their fast food orders. How can we heal each other if we keep using hate and violence? We can’t heal the world that way. She obviously about to have a break down because it has been rough for her too. She’s also a woman, not a man. Women are minority in a mans world. She’s already had to fought men for her respect as a woman.

Is it bad that a woman who was a FORMER slave (Nancy Green) got a good job ? She was very popular because she was nice, friendly and was a good cook (and I read she was a good singer). Oh, how terrible. She should be unemployed and collecting welfare to show how she is not being exploited. UPDATE: I just heard that "Uncle" as a derogatory term for an older black man in the south. • Officer Stacie seems really really stressed out. Perhaps we should defund the police, let more qualified organizations handle certain emergencies, and limit the amount of time police are on the streets. That way certain situations will be handled more appropriately and police won’t be as stressed out; it could be win-win situation.

Nepal being a small country its voice hasn’t been heard and do not make headlines. Inida’s past boarder issue with Bangladesh, ongoing issues with China, Pakistan, Nepal says something about their intention.

  • I don't want any cop to be hurt and be sent to the hospital but they need to feel the pain to maybe change their actions towards the people they failed. I haven't seen anyone learn until you put their nose in it in shome fashion. Its even harder to change a group mentality.

  • I feel like you really framed that cop story in a "its not that bad. Man up" type view, and I think you did so disingenuously to cover your ass from criticism from the angry mob. You have power phil. Use it for good. Dont be stupid, stupid.

  • The Blow over comment just angers me. Its as if this police officer has no concept of her role in society and how untrusting and angry we are at the way many handle it. But yes, lets feel bad for the poor lady having a breakdown because she thinks she is being targeted for her profession. How do you think we feel being targeted for being POCs?

  • The story the day before was not false. The cops did get poisoned it just turns out it was not on purpose. Another cop got a tampon in their coffee. I agree the cop in the video has some issues going on and needs some leave , you have to remember that the last time we had race issues like this cops were murdered just for being cops. Even today they are getting attacked for doing their jobs.
