Like always, there are a limited number of individuals on both sides taking it too far, but it wasn't crazy. Now it is. Their "tactics" are taking things too far, they have used zero Deescalation techniques "aside from bullying" to calm things down, opting to show force. Even when they are not on federal property. This causes more anger and frustration among the people, causing more vandalism. Still, the situation is no where near as bad as what Fox and our President have been saying. • Both sides of this issue in Portland are so politically charged I find it hard to believe anyone. The video clips released are very short and out of context. The clip that has gone viral actually shows the agents targeting that specific person and ignoring the person filming. If they were just detaining anyone and everyone, this wouldn't have been the case. The women that was detained wasn't exactly dressed in everyday clothing. That didn't look like something a "peaceful protestor" would wear. She was obviously trying to protect herself beyond a face mask.. it's July. Not exactly cool weather, even for Portland.

What baffles me is the lack of actual retaliation against this behavior from well... Everyone. Especially other government officials who're vocally criticizing it. I mean... How is this not illegal? They're not being arrested, they straight up are being kidnapped; they arent being read their miranda rights, they're not being told why they're being even detained, these individuals arent identifying themselves or what department they're from, they're not doing Anything thats legally required to arrest someone. Theres just so many things that are straight up illegal here, beyond whats being mentioned in my comment and even this video... yet theres next to nothing being done in response. Thats amazing to me. It shouldnt be considering how intensely our government, on both the local and federal level, have been dragging their feet when it comes to serving the population... but it does still amaze me.

And how much longer will it be until the rest of the world will be forced to send in peace keepers to keep the US citizens safe from the US government that's supposed to? • Fear Uncertainty and Doubt campaigns on both sides. Look. I hate to think federal police might violate my rights. However, people spamming this story on reddit and calling it pure fascism and blaming Trump are so fake. From my understanding of the plot here, and I'm very surprised Phil did not uncover this. Oregon has famously failed to uphold the law and protect citizens and property. CHOP was a complete failure and lack of civility. No one wants to call them out. The same sentiment was stirring through Oregon and people were rallying to burn down state and federal buildings. The mayors, governors, and everyone else crying "Trump we're trying, stop intervening!" failed to do their job. They all played a roll in this absolute anarchy going on. They were going to let it happen to "ease tension". Which means, holding people accountable was going to be hard and they signed up for a roll in Oregon where it's soft and easy life. They weren't prepared to uphold the law. I support Trump sending in federal forces where the local law has decided to let crime win. Further, getting picked up by officers, put into custody, and then LET GO when you refuse to waive your 5th amendment right, is the way that should go. You are allowed to be detained. If you are "just wearing black and walking around a city plagued by unrest and riots" during a time when you are supposed to be reasonably quarantined, that's suspicious. I don't want my rights to be violated. And I understand the danger in playing this game. But I would not be in that position. I don't feel my rights are at risk and I don't see ANY EVIDENCE that anyone's rights were actually violated yet. Being detained and let go is not against anyone's rights. I have been put in handcuffs and held in a police vehicle for 10-15 minutes when I had done nothing wrong, or at the very least, no one had proof beyond a reasonable doubt. However, I'd be fucking ignorant to claim they had no reason. People want to play victim. I WANT police, marked or unmarked, picking up people in an area where there is a strong sentiment to burn down society and asking them questions. If they say no, I won't, ok. Did they need to be taken to the facility first? I don't know. Could they have been asked just there on the street? I don't know. We do not have evidence anything wrong was done and yet the media is quick to blame Trump. If my state officials get word that someone wants to burn down the capital building and they say "let it happen, I don't want someone to think I don't support them" I 100% want my federal government to step in. I want them to come to my state and question people in the area. If someone gives reasonable suspicion, I want them searched. If they have all the means to burn down a building, I want them prosecuted. If there is no more reasonable doubt that they were in fact intending to burn down a public building, I want them punished for that intent. That's a crime. Conspiracy to commit arson? There should be checks on power. If people are found to overreach it, please stop them. I am facing an overuse of power and leveraged bureaucracy. It sucks. It needs to be scrutinized and fixed. I just don't see that here yet. This whole issue is being made partisan and the media's agenda seems to be FUD. When I see that, I tune out that side. Someone want to highlight actual evidence of someone's constitutional rights being violated and no prosecution following that? Without that, I really just have to assume that people are lying and using others misfortune to game the system.

  • What's interesting, Kanye says "she didn't really free slaves" people (I'm assuming mostly left, sorry if it's not) got very upset. Rightfully so. But when Ibram Kendi says America has and always will be racist and no black person has or ever will be free in this racist institution, people applaud him (again, mostly left biased). Both are wrong. America is not racist. It was founded in 1776 and has been a constant fight to ensure that constitution supports ALL. People who were freed by Harriet Tubman were freed. She didn't hand them to other slavers. She fought strong and hard, and she was very successful. America has fought strong and hard, and we have been very successful. Do not let people rewrite history.

Riots are being declared multiple times a day at multiple locations. The law abiding Citizens are left to fend for our selves while not being allowed to actually do anything to protect ourselves. Countless monuments have been ruined. Historical buildings are being burned down. Its amazing how many people are here protesting when they arent Oregonians. The rest of the state is FED THE FUCK UP with all of this. Trump is doing something to protect the people that have been abandoned by our far left flung "representatives". Its impossible to try to get around to go to work while all the 'peaceful protesters' blocking roads, burning jobsites, trying to fight construction workers because we still have to work (just because we arent supporting their cause). I dread going to work because I have no faith that the Portland police will be able to do anything to protect me and my employees. • If unmarked unidentified people attempted to detain me I would take it as a lethal threat. If I killed an officer a father brother son for simply not giving onsite information and Miranda rights as ordered by some bureaucratic fool that would be a very sad thing.

  • I'm sorry, but aren't the terrorists, oh sorry, "law enforcement officers" already supposed to identify themselves as such and say why they're detaining you? I thought that was part of the basic rights of citizens. They have to state a lawful reason for detaining you otherwise you can leave. And they're supposed to identify themselves before doing ANYTHING so that you know what the fuck is going on. Honestly, what the actual fuck is our "country" rn. Fucking torturing and killing people and getting away with it despite crystal clear evidence and then fear-mongering and lying saying it's our fault. What the fuck. I fucking hate our country rn and that's sad and terrifying. I want to be proud of where I come from, not ashamed. Ugh

  • I think this is an easy way to employ mercs to act as if they are law enforcement

  • 14:10 That has been a longstanding issue with all law enforcement forces for decades. Law enforcement hasn't been required to give the citizen's any explanation when detaining. Essentially creating a situation where citizens have next to no self defense rights when cops are the ones committing crimes against them. This is actually unconstitutional since cops have been getting away with acting like thugs, muggers, tyrants, etc. which completely ignores both the "this is a country of, by, and for the people" as well as the 4th amendment's requirement that searches/seizures be reasonable.

  • 5:30 don't call them protestors. They're rioters when they do this. Or terrorists, but rioters is nicer.
