  • You do you but Harry Styles wearing a dress isn't an attack on you. lol

    • I think it's less to do with someone wearing a dress and more to do with perpetuating a weak mindset, for leading, which is the leading factor for the downfall of the majority of great empires which is what that woman was referencing to in context of how the east understand this. And by no means does wearing a dress make you weak, it's just highly probable that you are.

      Julian DJulian D3 dögum síðan
    • I honestly don’t see how Harry wearing a dress makes him less of a man. It’s a dress, not a sex change. He’s wearing a dress, not changing his gender. Not that that is a bad thing either but still.

    • Re: "Disagreement isn't an attack on you." Correct. But that defense doesn't make it right or wrong. It's just saying there is disagreement. And this cuts both ways, often in ways the far left have trouble digesting about a myriad of topics. E.g. moderates or conservatives might disagree about the myth of "systemic racism." (See Coleman Hughes on The Empircal Problems with Systemic Racism), and rather reliably, many well-meaning, but confused on the far left view this disagreement as 'attack.' So, just as long as you're keeping honest when it applies to you.

    • "We need strong manly men in our community" what about the men who are pressured to repress their emotions? Or don't understand why they feel shame and guilt for expressing themselves how they want? These people aren't even trying to hide that they think femininity is an inherent weakness in not only individuals but a community holy fuck

  • The only valid critique I've seen of harry's vogue cover actually had nothing to do with him and acknowledged that he is rad. It was questioning why Jayden Smith or Billy Porter weren't tapped for this cover considering they've been making gender bending fashion choices for longer than Harry. It was more about why black representation was overlooked when it's been around longer. That being said; let's set aside the fact that the conservatives are being wildly dramatic here. Who cares what other people put on their bodies?? Harry is genderfluid and it doesn't make sense to try and hold him to traditionally masculin standards to begin with since he's not strictly a man he's nonbinary. He's not trying to be a "strong man" cuz he's not one or at least not all the time. (Not that strong men can't wear dresses, they absolutely can.)

Science wise, it was so difficult to develop one because it causes immune responses which typically break it down and make it useless, but the fact that they were able to circumvent the immune response to the point where it is still functional and developing enough memory B and T cells of immunity is honestly so cool and awesome. Following these studies, I'm excited to see where this will bring us in terms of future vaccine development and maybe even other illnesses!

  • bring back manly men? Dude they do know men have worn skirts, and skirt like items since forever right? The egyptians: check. Greeks: Check! Celts: check Chinese warriors from a certain era wore freaking skirt like tunics. Like come on, in the 18th century men ran around wearing powdered white long haired wigs and drew fake moles on. And that didn't seem to diminish their "masculinity" at all, still decided on wars, still probably beat their wives and burnt some witches. So let men express themselves kay? How lost and afraid do you have to be to think a pair of pants are the thing that have the power to make or break a persons values, strengths, weaknesses, reason to be? I thought it had been made clear its not ok to tell females or males how the fuck they should dress.

  • Toxic masculinity is thinking men who don’t conform to gender norms are somehow lesser than. Toxic masculinity is not being ok with someone else going against gender norms while simultaneously choosing not to engage in that behaviour yourself. For example: toxic masculinity = a guy wore a dress, that’s “gay” or he’s a “sissy”. Not toxic masculinity= a guy wore a dress, that’s cool but it’s not for me. It’s rather simple.

Typical trash talk from people on the left side of the fence to talk about how we should take down stereotypes and blah blah but then make dick jokes when you say something they don’t like, and I thought he was better than that, hence why I’m subbed to him. In what way do you get off saying that Ben seems insecure about his masculinity? Reaching for straws here.
