  • I realise this is a late comment, but having had our elections in New Zealand a few months earlier, I was terrified at the thought of voting for my first time hearing horrible things about Voter places in America. I found out that within 5 minutes drive from my house, there were 12 different voting locations, currently open for early voting, and over 50 registered for voting for election day. With many of these being open on rotating days. That you have one place on election day is rediculus. Our entire country has less population then NYC, how the hell do we have more voting locations in quater of a city? I went in to vote, and it took me 10 minutes. Including walking. America, wake up to the stupidity that is pointless diffuculties that the government puts upon you.

  • I definitely think that restructuring is great based on how things are going and what things can be done to minimize costs, such as working from home. My only concern is the limit on socializing face to face/in person the the ever growing hostility on social media. Social media gives a lot of people the ability to be much more abrasive and sometimes cruel to each other. It may take the humanizing element away from such interactions. Besides leaving so many buildings abandoned that I would hope to be repurposed, but have found that a lot of times aren’t. I would hope it would help more problems than create them - but as with everything can be a double edged sword.

  • I really don’t want to lose the magic of movie theaters. I can’t afford a theater room or fancy sound system. I can afford a movie ticket. I would have hated experiencing Avengers Endgame for the first time any other way. Just picture it. A place with no distractions. No books, no phones, minimal talking. Nothing exists outside the screen. The words “on your left” uttered, followed by the building horns that rumble in your chest as portals open up across the battlefield. You are fully immersed, focused, and invested in what you are seeing. A powerful moment given its deserved grandeur on the big screen removed from the distractions of everyday life. You can’t get that in a home with just a tv or monitor.

You just can't get the theater experience anywhere, that sound quality and screen size. I grew up going to movies anytime a big release happened so that's probably why I feel that way.

  • Regarding the move to streaming, I'll be disappointed if movie theatres disappear. I don't watch everything there but I like having the option. I don't have a massive tv with surround sound and I also don't have/want to spend the money on a dozen different streaming services just so I can watch that one movie that I really want to see.

  • The issue is not really the digital push vs theaters as portrayed here, it has more to do with how much bullshit it will be. Just as with Mulan costing $30 was a garbage cashgrab and not just inflated but you would have a hard time arguing against price gouging during a pandemic. Go to the theater and watch a movie on the big screen $20 with soda and popcorn. Or watch it on your TV at home for $30. Who paid that much, it is testing the waters and sadly, somehow enough low IQ plebs paid for it, to justify moving farward with more price gouged shit because people are dumb enough to pay it and Disney makes 100 times more money per person. Here we have to blame the consumer, not Disney for this bullshit move. You cannot blame a Corporation for taking advantage of such a massive profit margin if people are dumb enough to pay for it.

  • Several factors at play here for voting that people in other countries don't know. Each state has their own rule set and most see 5-10 min waits at the most. Many voters don't realize that they can vote at any polling station in their county when voting early. We vote on more than just the President during Presidential elections. I voted on my way home from work, spent more time in the booth than I did waiting because I don't do the single party vote. Last point, historically the US has terrible voter turnouts. Counties prep for voters based on previous trends so if you have a big turnout at a location that normally under performs, there isn't much you can do on day 1. I will say I don't get why we have to register ourselves to vote. Seems to me that if you have an SSN, you should be registered.

  • Voting should not be this difficult. Is this USA we are talking about. How the mighty has fallen. Most countries encourage higher turnouts. • “Business structures are going to evolve based off of what we have witnessed over the past couple of months...I think, a lot more people are going to start working from home, and a lot of businesses are going to realize they don’t actually need the spaces that they are leasing…” Yes, to some extent, and no, because there are a few aspects you may not considered. Let me briefly explain. It is important to note that even in non-essential industries in development, engineering et cetera, the standard weight of industry based operations and practices are still very much leaning towards closed systems and infrastructures. Which still greatly limits the plausibility of working from home, and pushing towards the conventional methods of work, regardless of time and industry changes in technologies and policies. It is also important to conceptualise this issue definitively. According to The Future of Work by Zara Abrams, despite the largely positive benefits of telecommuting, only about 7% of American companies offer telecommuting to their employees. Despite 43 percent of full-time workers in the U.S stating a preference towards working remotely more often after COVID-19, according to a national survey conducted by getAbstract. This is at the heart of the issue. Also, the plausibility and options for telecommuting differs, depending on the worker’s educational level, according to the: “Share of U.S. workers by telework status during the COVID-19 pandemic as of 2020, by education level”, published by the Statista research department... As such, it is not definitive that individuals will work more from home after the pandemic, simply because they want to do so. The more realistic scenario is that unless, companies and organisations change their employment practices, policies, and structures; individuals will be unable to work from home, even if they want to do so. Which in essence calls for a readdress, and shift in perspectives in the organisations look at work, especially given the extended impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. .. This is the short version. But great points, all around from your part...

  • OK so Disney is focusing on streaming services just tells me they are all about the money and the theaters do not matter to them. We the viewers are only going to be let down as quality will drop. There is no need to spend money on great picture and sound quality if the intended medium is a TV set. I understand some televisions have great picture and sound but they will never be able to compete with a theater dedicated to just that. Also i have no plans to purchase another streaming service there are enough out there, we don't need a dozen different monthly bills just to watch TV.

Jesus of Nazareth, who was God in the flesh of a man, died for the remission of sin, including yours, was buried, and rose form the dead 3 days later. If you simply believe in this to apply to you and trust Jesus to save you from hell then you have everlasting life in heaven. As Jesus says in John 6:47 "verily, verily I say unto you, he that believes in me has everlasting life."
